St. Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral was built in 1897 and consecrated in 1899. It is the fifth Church edifice built in the same location and was designed by Philadelphia architect Charles Marquedant Burns, Jr. (1838-1922). St. Stephen’s, which was chartered in 1817, has a rich history of worship in the Anglican tradition.

REACH @ St. Stephen's Food Pantry and Clothing Closet
Food Pantry 570-829-5611
The Food Pantry at REACH is the only full choice pantry in our area and is available to help people “make ends meet” we supplement their food sources from SNAP, personal funds and soup kitchens. People with dietary restrictions or allergies can choose the foods that make sense For Them. The food pantry may be accessed once a month. In concert with the Weinberg Food Bank, our main supplier of food basics and Feeding America nutritional information is available to all our customers.
Food Pantry is open five days a week, noon to three pm, and can be accessed once a month to help people make ends meet. We rely on donations and food drives to keep the pantry stocked with necessities. We service all Luzerne County Residents. Please call if you have a large donation or are doing a food drive.
Basic Necessities; To those just getting their first apartment; dishes, flatware, glassware, sheets and towels For the Homeless members of our community, bedrolls are distributed during Food Pantry hours. Donations of these items can be dropped off during the day.
The Clothing Closet, operating for the last twenty five years, is a place where registered customers can browse and shop free of charge, twice a month. We provide gently used clothing to families and individuals in need. We welcome residents from all over Luzerne County.
Toys For Tots - in concert with the Maines Toys for Tots program REACH is a distribution point for many families wishing to see their children smile via a new toy at Christmas, providing a message of hope.
