Prince of Peace Memorial Church

Share a story

We are a welcoming, open and loving congregation. We are traveling together on this Christian journey, walking through life's questions, seeking and learning together, sharing one another's celebrations and even one another's sorrows. We offer traditional Episcopal (Anglican) worship with a joy-filled and fun atmosphere.

We are a people on a journey, joyfully seeking to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us and to become part of our community. You are a part of this community whether you are arriving for the first time or returning.  We invite all persons regardless of age or denomination to share in the Holy Communion at the Lord's Table.

Prince of Peace provides the meal for the Soup Kitchen on the first Sunday and Monday of every month. Cooking Teams of 3-5 people are scheduled a year in advance.  In addition to providing the meal, a team member, or two, will help to serve the meal. Everyone on a team cooks the same recipe which is provided by the team leader. The meal may be prepared ahead of time and brought to the Soup Kitchen by 10:30 a.m. on Monday. Jan Guillory is the Soup Kitchen Director. She is contacted the week before we are scheduled to cook and will tell us how many people to prepare for. In addition, she often has meat or poultry that has been given to the Soup Kitchen and may be used in our meal preparation. Jan can be reached at the Soup Kitchen at 334-2773. Chris Ground assigns people to the teams and schedules them. There is a need for a few people who are willing to substitute as cooks and servers. Please contact Chris if you are interested in being a sub.

In addition, Prince of Peace has designated the first Sunday of each month as the day we collect non-perishable foods for the Soup Kitchen. Individual serving sizes are always welcome since some people (especially the homeless) take food with them. Requests for certain foods will be announced in the Sunday bulletin. By participating in this important ministry to the needy in our community, we are providing the only hot meal that some will get that day.
