About St. Andrew's In The Valley

St. Andrew’s in the Valley is located on a spacious 13-acre site in the Harrisburg suburbs at 4620 Linglestown Road, and the contemporary church building was dedicated in 1986.  A house on that property functions as its parish hall.  Our Valley location has the advantage of easy access from major highways and plenty of free parking.

Our Vision is to continue to be a vibrant and caring Parish, worshiping God in unity and peace.  We are rooted in the Episcopal tradition and gocused on growth through openness, and meaningful service.

Our mission is to welcome all people into our church. St Andrews in the Valley is a family living our lives together in Christ embracing all who seek God’s purpose in their lives through spiritual and personal growth.

Our church is a thriving community of believers, and lovers of the word of God. St. Andrew’s in the Valley has a long tradition of outreach and service to its members and the community. We hope you will join us for service on Sunday to experience for yourself the lellowship of Christ.

Our facilities are used by other organizations. The Valley church and/or house hosts several diocesan functions each month, as well as a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. A cadre of dedicated volunteers helps keep the grounds in good shape. The lower of our Valey church is also utilized by a YMCA day-care center. The YMCA also has a large playground on our property. In addition to their monthly rental, St. Andrews retains the right to utilize their space on Sunday mornings. Curretly the Valley house has sufficient space for Sunday School Classes.

Daughters of the King

Faith Formation

The Order of the Daughters of the King® (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We make a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as our Lord. We are an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church. Our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic churches.

We are an Order, not a group or organization. An Order is a community under a religious rule; one requiring members to take solemn vows. We don’t just enroll as members and attend meetings; we take life-long vows to follow the Rules of Prayer and Service.

The Order of the Daughters of the King® was founded by Margaret J. Franklin at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in New York City in 1885.
