Christ Church Parish

Christ Church Parish is a very small portion of the "experiment in Christianity" that has been tried in many cultures and places during the last 2000 years. We are very conscious of our roots in Judaism and its trajectory toward monotheism, that is, the realization of the oneness of humanity. Jesus Christ is for us the lens through which the very nature of God can be glimpsed, the One who came to destroy the notion of "our enemies".

Despite the upheavals that Christianity has been undergoing, we dare to believe that the Holy Spirit is still speaking in the hearts and minds of Christians who are alert to both the theological tradition and world events.

The ecological crisis, the persistence of racism, and the normalization of greed call us to vigilance and to a life in community that sustains our hopes and our actions. We want to be a place of rest for weary souls, a safe haven for wounded humanity, a human place where all are welcome and none is rejected, a circle of friendship where life flows abundant.

Whoever you are, we welcome you for a time of refreshment.

Christ Church Parish is opening its campus to visitors and friends. We have a flexible space which can accommodate different activities: patios, lawns, and halls for dinner parties, areas for silence and contemplation, as well as classrooms for courses mostly focused on spirituality and ecological living.

We have a cloister garden of various plants, a street-facing frontage that features California and Southwest native plants, Memorial Garden, and larger space called "Rebecca's Garden," which features an olive grove, a central labyrinth inspired by I'itoi, the Tohono O'odham Nation's "Man in the Maze," and a network of paths for walking meditation.

The garden, like the faith community of Christ Church, welcomes everyone. It recognizes in each one’s spiritual seeking a universal call to unity and fraternity manifested in the divine plan to “bring into one the whole in the Christ, both the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth.” (Eph 1:10)
