Christ Episcopal Church

Christ Church is a sacramental and altar-focused community, biblically centered, and mission-driven. We are called to proclaim the good news of God in Christ; to welcome others into deeper relationship with Christ and the Church; to form others and to be formed ourselves as disciples of Christ; and to engage in the work of reconciliation Jesus has given us, both near and far.
This parish is both a historic church, proud of its heritage, and a dynamic, growing community of people of all ages.
Christwood was developed from a vision of Christ Episcopal Church to answer a need of its parishioners and other residents on the Northshore. Opening in May 1996, the Continuing Care Retirement Community is located on more than 50 beautiful acres adjacent to the property of Christ Episcopal Middle School on Hwy 21 just south of I-12.
Christ Episcopal School, established in 1984, is a mission of Christ Church. We now have two sites: the Early Childhood Campus is adjacent to the church and the Christwood Blvd Campus is adjacent to Christwood. There are students in grades pre-kindergarten through high school.

Christ Episcopal Enrichment Program (CEEP)
CEEP is an outreach ministry to at-risk children in our community who are moving into grades 3-6. The project was developed by Christ Church in 1992 and is held at the church each summer. It is a four-week educational enrichment experience which includes breakfast and lunch, integrated academic classes taught by certified teachers, lessons in character development, goal-setting, and conflict resolution as well as weekly field trips and swimming.
We minister compassionately to the children of our community by offering them a summer educational experience that will serve them well when they return to school in August. Volunteers are also much needed in the classroom to work with students and during both breakfast and lunch.

Third Sunday Concert Series
The Third Sunday Concert Series is an outreach of Christ Church but is supported in large part by memberships. The Third Sunday concerts feature area musicians and singers, usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month, September – May. All concerts begin at 5 p.m. and are free and open to the public. A major attraction of the series is the wine and hors d’oeuvres reception which follows each concert. Not only is it an opportunity for the audience to meet and talk with the guest artists, but it also provides an opportunity for the audience to visit with friends made over the years of concerts at Christ Church.
