St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, located at 201 Denim Drive in Erwin, welcomes all people to attend our services and join with us in our mission, “ To Know Christ and Make Him Known.” We are the Episcopal Church in Harnett County and welcome worshipers from the surrounding area. Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services are offered.
Our church emphasizes service and outreach to the community. Among other outreach we support Grace Chapel Church Food Bank, Beacon Rescue Mission, SAFE of Harnett County, and Thompson Home for children. We also contribute to Buddy Backpacks and make donations for school supplies to local schools.
Established in 1905 by William Allen Erwin, the founder of Erwin Cotton Mills, our historic church has a warm, beautiful interior, and music is provided by a 1941 Austin Pipe Organ of 13 ranks, which was renovated in 2007 and includes both digital and pipe organ components.
Sunday School is offered for both adults and children. Opportunities for women’s ministry are provided through the Episcopal Church Women and through a chapter of The Order of the Daughters of the King, a prayer and service organization. St. Stephen’s also has a men’s group which meets regularly for fellowship and meals.
