So, you might find the King James Bible and “thees” and “thous”, or contemporary language prayers, or even prayers employing native language and jargon. St. Mary’s Lawrence Park uses contemporary language in services, even employing alternative services for special times and seasons. Traditional and contemporary hymns and religious music – Our music ranges from a cappella chant to pipe organ to contemporary praise, depending on the service or the season. St. Mary’s Lawrence Park primarily enjoys traditional and contemporary hymns and service music sung to the familiar sound of the church organ. The Holy Eucharist – The heart of our Sunday morning service, is called by some “The Mass” or “The Lord’s Supper.” Eucharist means “thanksgiving,” and in the breaking of the bread and the sharing of the cup, we make the presence of Christ and the love of God real and immediate, food for the soul that nourishes us to go forth and do the good work that God has given us to do. St. Mary's Lawrence Park's worship is in the "Broad Church" tradition, mixing "High Church" ritual and "Low Church" informality. Music is a major part of our worship, and members love to raise their voices in song.
