All Saints, Chevy Chase

Share a story

Founded in 1897, All Saints Church has from the beginning been a warm and caring community of families and singles, young and old, committed to:

  • spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, revealed in the Bible
  • providing extended opportunities for Christian growth through Bible study and related learning experiences
  • caring for those in need and sharing our talents for mutual enrichment
  • encouraging, supporting, and inspiring each other as we share and reinforce our faith and trust in the love of God

All Saints began as a mission church in a little school house located on Chevy Chase Circle. In 1901 ground was broken for a new church to seat 250 at each service. Built of Rock Creek granite, the original church is today incorporated into the All Saints complex. All Saints’ architecture is English Gothic Revival and the church contains outstanding examples of stained glass art.

Mission Trips and Partnerships

All Saints believes wholeheartedly that when the church is doing missions – the church is being the church! This is true in our community, our country, and abroad. And “going on mission” to one of our partner countries can be a live-changing opportunity to serve Christ!

We aim to present the Good News of the Gospel that every student may know how deeply loved they are by Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to move toward the Kingdom, by preaching and living the good news that Jesus gives abundant and everlasting life, living in loving and graceful relationships, and sharing His love with our world.

Visiting Ministry

Aging, Health and Wellbeing

Whether incapacitated briefly or for the long-term, everyone needs to feel loved and cared for. It is through that love and care that Visiting Ministers serve God and their fellow parishioners. Visiting Ministers call, visit, and send cards to parishioners of all ages; they also provide meals, rides to church, and take the Eucharist to those who request it. Some Visiting Ministers take flowers, soup, reading material, or whatever the individual likes or needs. Others take nothing except their loving hearts and smiling faces. The Visiting Ministry team visits parishioners in a variety of settings – nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and homes.

All Saints Preschool is a ministry of All Saints Church.

The earliest years of life have a powerful influence on how children view the world, how they relate to others, and how they succeed as learners. All Saints Preschool believes this is the ideal time to make a difference in the life of each child.

Children of All Saints Preschool are provided space both indoors and outdoors for discovery and exploration. The program is based on The Creative Curriculum, which focuses on social/emotional development, physical, cognitive, language, and literacy skills.

All Saints Preschool is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care and upholds all Code of Maryland Regulations. These COMAR regulations ensure every child’s health and safety during their time with us.

The Peace Center

Bunia
Congo - Kinshasa

Working with the Anglican Church in Congo, Bisoke Balikenga started a peace centre in Bunia, the provincial capital of Ituri province in eastern DRC. Ituri is a region rocked by tribal fighting.

Thousands of people have fled attacks in their villages and travelled to Bunia in search of relative safety – with 200,000 displaced people now in the area.

They are in desperate need of food, water and shelter, and are deeply traumatised. Many women and girls who arrive at the peace centre have suffered sexual violence, and been rejected by their families as a result.

Global Teams is an international mission movement focused on reaching the 6,648 unreached people groups. Their desire is to reach the 2.9 billion people who have never heard the gospel. Following John 1:14: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us,” we ensure that church planting movements emerge in forms and expressions that fit the culture of that people group and enable the gospel to spread.
