We are a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-generational community with a passion for serving Christ and our community. Our mission is grounded in Faith, Evangelism, Outreach, and Participation. Outreach is a key component of St. Mark's ministries, including the St. Mark's Thrift Shop, which is open on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. We directly support the diocesan Hunger Fund, provide bag lunches for clients at Elizabeth House in Laurel, MD, and we regularly collect canned food and dry goods for a local area food bank. During Advent each year, our Angel Tree project provides gifts and clothing for families in need and seniors in the community. Our 2019 parish-wide outreach project is a backpack and school supply drive to provide students in need at an area elementary school to start off their school year with the basics needed for success.
The caring and generous people of St. Mark's are its first and best strength. There is a wide spectrum of spirituality at St. Mark's, from cradle Episcopalians, to those from other denominations and people at varying stages of their spiritual journeys. All are embraced, and we embody the Jesus Movement by loving God and loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are a friendly, welcoming congregation and we invite you to join us soon!
