St. Philip's Episcopal Church
Share a story
We are a very intentionally welcoming and inclusive congregation.
One of the hallmarks of the Episcopal Church, here in Brevard and around the world, is that we have ample room for a very broad spectrum of spiritual journeys and points of view. We ask at least as many questions as we answer, and invite everyone to engage in thoughtful and respectful discussion. And TOGETHER we focus on supporting and nurturing the faith journey of all who pass through our red doors.
Perhaps most importantly, our church extends well beyond its stone walls. We take very seriously our mission as Christians to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, in thought, word and deed, throughout this community and beyond.
Like our congregation, our worship is diverse. When you visit, we hope that among our services and fellowship gatherings you will find something that particularly appeals to you and your family.
We’d be delighted to talk with you here at church, or to meet with you in your home or somewhere in between, to hear about your hopes and dreams and explore with you how St. Philip’s might help you fulfill them.”

Some General Missions of the Parish
St. Philip’s has many resources and capabilities and our Ministries are described in detail at https://www.stphilipsbrevardnc.org/ministries.
Ministries which are of particular interest in times of need include:
- Jill Stewart is our Parish Administrator and can help you find the appropriate people and facilities resources to address your needs within the Parish.
- The Rev. Elizabeth Roles is the 12th rector of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and can provide pastoral care and help connect you with resources. (POP not currently being written)
- The parish's Christian Social Concerns Committee responds to direct needs of community neighbors by funding and encouraging volunteering with organizations that serve the marginalized and underserved in Transylvania County.
- ECW Outreach Committee - This committee reviews and awards operating grants to community organizations addressing children and families in need. Volunteers are needed for reviewing grants, interviewing agencies, and discerning awards.
- ECW - The Shop of St. Philip’s is the largest operation of the ECW with a mission of offering good quality clothing and household goods to those on limited budgets and to raise money for grants to local nonprofits through the ECW’s Outreach Committee.
- The primary mission of the Towel Ministry is to permit elderly and disabled residents of Transylvania County to safely stay at home for as long as possible by making appropriate modifications to the home. Many skills and resources among these volunteers.
- The St. Philip’s Foundation receives gifts and bequests of money, personal and real property, invests and manages the same, and from such property makes grants for charitable, religious and educational purposes.
