About The Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin

The Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin is a community of 100 congregations and ministries of the Episcopal Church. The Diocese of Wisconsin was formed in 1847. The Diocese of Fond du Lac was formed In 1875 to serve northeast Wisconsin. The Diocese of Wisconsin became the Diocese of Milwaukee in 1886. The Diocese of Eau Claire was formed from Milwaukee and Fond du Lac in 1928 to serve northwest Wisconsin. On May 4, 2024, the three dioceses approved reunion and the 81st General Convention consented June 28, 2024 so the Diocese of Wisconsin was formed anew.
