Saint Paul's Church

Share a story

Saint Paul’s is a vibrant downtown church that is located on Reynold’s Street at the Riverwalk.  We are a welcoming Episcopal congregation committed to living and sharing the Good News of God in Jesus Christ.  People are drawn to Saint Paul’s because of its powerful and meaningful worship including a strong music ministry, its community outreach, educational opportunities and times of fellowship and fun.

Saint Paul’s Church has a rich history.  Since its beginning in 1750 the church has occupied the same site at the corner of Reynolds and 6th Street in downtown Augusta.  It has been a gathering place as the community celebrates its joys and grieves together.  It has continued over the past 270 years to engage parishioners and the surrounding community, feeding the soul and welcoming all.  To this end, members of Saint Paul’s are engaged in ministries that support area schools, feed those who are hungry, continually touching the lives of those who need the hope we find in following Jesus.

We can best be prepared to be the Body of Christ by supporting one another, welcoming all, serving as Christ served, worshiping with power, joy and conviction and learning together how to deepen our faith.

The doors of Saint Paul’s are open for prayer and reflection weekdays and Saturday mornings.  The churchyard provides a place of respite and calm in the midst of a busy world.  We are blessed to have inherited this place to continually offer to the larger community and to build on the strong foundation that has been laid.

No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, no matter where you are on the journey of life, Saint Paul’s welcomes you.  For more information, please call the Parish Office during regular office hours.

Celtic Evening Prayer and Communion:
Our Celtic Evening Prayer is a candle-lit service which emphasizes the contemplative side of worship and features some of Augusta’s best Celtic musicians. This service invites you to come as you are to enter into a place of rest, prayer and reflection. We hope it will help you to a deeper place of spiritual attentiveness, a place where you experience God.

Many who attend this service come from other churches and faith traditions, and we are delighted to have many who consider Saint Paul’s to be their second church home.

Compline is a beautiful, simple, and quiet service to end the day together in prayer with God. This service is led by members of the parish using an on-screen bulletin so everyone may pray together. Following the prayers, those who gather through Zoom have opportunity for a brief mid-week visit.
