Volunteer opportunities
The Children's Weekend Food Program provides qualifying school-aged children with nutritional child-friendly food in a "back-pack" to take home over the week-end. Volunteers pack these backpacks for several grades on Wednesday afternoons. We also raise funds for this organization. Last year we raised over $3800 dollars.
Laundry Love is another volunteer activity. Due to COVID we have changed our Laundry Love program from a monthly evening sponsorship of the Saint Peter Laundry Co. Laundromat to a Packet-Pickup-Day. One day a month we distribute packets to individuals/families who need extra help in maintaining a supply of clean laundry for themselves. Each packet consists of 15 laundry tokens, 3 soap pods, 3 dryer sheets, and an encouraging thought or saying. We distribute between 10 and 15 packets per month.
Ministries
Laundry Love
One Wednesday of every month, our volunteers pay for washing machines, detergent, dryer sheets and dryers for those visiting the St. Peter Laundry Co. in St. Peter, Minnesota. This is a new ministry and we are both fund-raising and seeking partners in this new venture.
