In September of 2015 Trinity Episcopal Church and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church joined together to begin a
joint ministry in downtown Claremont.
Prince of Peace sold its building and moved into Trinity Episcopal Church.
The purpose of this ministry is to better serve the Claremont community through outreach and mission.
The congregations decided to meld their traditions together creating worship experiences
that honor both Lutheran and Episcopal traditions.
All are welcome to participate in and share this joint ministry with us.

Student Breakfast After School Program and Backpacks for Kids
In 2004 Trinity started serving a free hot breakfast to students walking to school. This ministry grew from one day a month, to one day a week, to a few days a week, then every school day.
In 2015 the High School started to offer hot breakfasts for its’ students. Not wanting to compete with them we stopped the Breakfast Program at Trinity. When stopping the Breakfast Program, we started an After School Program one day a week, to offer food, mentoring and a warm place to those students who need it.
We continue our mission of providing food for students over the weekend by sending bags of food for the school nurses to distribute. We currently provide 52 bags weekly to the Middle School and Elementary Schools in Claremont. The food for these bags is generously supported through community gifts, and are then packed and delivered by volunteers.
Baby Steps
Until recently we were the home for Baby Steps, a 4H project started in 2011 to provide essential needs for young parents. This program provides a needed resource for the families in the Claremont Community. The program has evolved over the years and now offers a wide variety of things needed to help these families through life’s transitions. Baby Steps, run by volunteers, is always in need of items and resources to continue helping the families.

Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles
Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.
