St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

St. Andrew’s membership is by nature conventional, married with families with a wide range of interests and careers but also included in our parish are single parent and non-traditional families.

In addition to homemakers and college students, professions range from teachers, college professors, and dentists, to government workers, farmers, and construction workers. From pre-schooler to doctoral student, every level of education is well represented. The underlying diversity of our congregation can be seen at the communion rail on any given Sunday. You will see parishioners in dark suits and ties, blue jeans, shorts, Capri pants, dresses, and pants suits. Children and babies, younger to older, quiet to noisy, all attend and participate every Sunday.

Outside of church, we enjoy a variety of activities. Some of us play in a jug band, and others play the organ, piano, flute, or violin. We have professionally trained singers and singers who “can’t carry a tune with a bucket.” We coach soccer and drive our children to karate; we work with wood, grub in the garden, arrange flowers, make jewelry, and enjoy quilting and smocking. We play bridge and poker and Crazy 8’s, walk for world hunger, read voraciously, volunteer for the literacy council, collect food for our local food pantry, and work with Women in Need (WIN). We have those who play golf, hunt and fish, boat and swim, and celebrate their heritage as descendants of Civil War soldiers.
