Emmanuel is a federated Lutheran Episcopal Church received by both the New England Synod ELCA and the Episcopal Diocese of Maine, wholly Lutheran and wholly Episcopal. Emmanuel is a welcoming and close-knit community, that loves to sing, laugh, and share food. Emmanuel operates Bridging the Gap, a low-barrier community resource at 209 Eastern Avenue in Augusta, which provides free clothing, hygiene supplies, referral to services, and case-by-case financial support for those experiencing hardship through the Centralized Helping Fund (CHeF).

Bridging the Gap works with volunteers both in Addie’s Attic our free clothing bank and other areas of this ministry depending on people's skills and needs.
