St. John's, Mt. Rainier

Share a story

St. John’s Episcopal/Anglican Church is located in Mount Rainier, Maryland, a city  located between Hyattsville and Bladensburg on the District of Columbia’s (DC) northeast border. It is a vibrant, diverse, multicultural congregation which has seen dramatic changes over the last twenty five years of its over-100-year history.

Our Vision:

“To transform St. John’s Church into a place where people from different nations worship and are inspired to be the best they can be for the Mission and Ministry of the parish.”

Our Mission:

“St. John’s will provide the necessary facilities, activities and Christianly setting for each parishioner to develop individually and collectively in their efforts to attain their best as Christians.”

Our members represent a variety of backgrounds and traditions. In recent years we have welcomed many members who have come to America from West Africa, South America and the Caribbean.

Parishioners participate in men’s, women’s, youth and senior groups. Our Social & Cultural Committee keeps us active and involved through fellowship events throughout the year.
