UNIFORM & CLOTHES CLOSET

Donation Coordination/Distribution

Our uniform closet was started in 2005 in cooperation with Woodbridge School District. The schools and parents "recycle" outgrown uniforms and the proceeds from the sales are given to the District to fund their Uniform Assistance program.

As part of our Parish Outreach, St. Mary's have expanded this program and opened our "Clothing Closet" next door to our "Uniform Closet". We have received through the generosity of this congregation, a room full of good used clothing for babies to adults. Proceeds from the clothes closet go to our Teen Challenge Home of Hope Project.

TEEN CHALLENGE - HOME OF HOPE

Donation Coordination/Distribution

In June 2015, we assumed as a Parish Outreach Project for the Delmarva Teen Challenge "Home of Hope"; a facility to assist addicted women similar to their facility for men in Seaford. In 2016 Delmarva Teen Challenge expanded their thrift store to a MEGA thrift store. This store provides a huge part of their operating expenses for the men's facility in Seaford and will for the Home of Hope for Women in Bridgeville.

St. Mary's has been a strong supporter of Teen Challenge by continuing our generous donations for good salable items for the thrift store, such as clothing, furniture, appliances, large and small toys, tools, jewelry, knick knacks and household items such as books–and even cars, trucks, and campers. Arrangements can be made to pick up large items.

HOME OF THE BRAVE FOUNDATION

Donation Coordination/Distribution

The Home of the Brave Foundation was established to furnish food, transitional housing and counseling to veterans of the Armed Forces of the USA. The funds to run this home is derived solely from grants and donations, as it does not qualify for funds from the Federal Government. St. Mary's Congregation has provided individual donations, food, paper products, sheet sets, blankets, towels, quilts, lap robes, and personal items needed. Every third month St. Mary's donates food and paper products from our monthly food collection for the needy.

FOOD PANTRY

Food Pantries

This is a collection of food which St. Mary's gives to the following on a rotating basis: Home of the Brave, Methodist Church, and Ocean City.
