St. Timothy, Chehalis

As a diverse people of God, the mission of St. Timothy Episcopal Church is to be a welcoming and nurturing congregation, committed to devotion to God, spiritual development and care of the needs of the larger community.
St. Timothy’s was officially recognized as a new parish church at the diocesan convention of 2000. St. Timothy’s, Chehalis was formed as a result of the merger of two congregations: St. John’s Episcopal Church, Centralia, founded in 1889 and Church of the Epiphany, Chehalis, founded in 1885. St.Timothy’s uses the former church building of Church of the Epiphany and now serves the needs of the Episcopal Church in all of Lewis County.
St. Timothy’s welcomes all people and extends the opportunity to worship God in a nurturing atmosphere of warmth and friendliness.
Our future will be built on a firm foundation as we look for new ways of serving Christ in our community.

Mobile Ministry: St. Timothy’s Community Outreach Program
“But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind . . .” Luke 14:13 ESV
On the third Saturday of each month, Mobile Ministry offers members of St. Timothy’s an opportunity to live the Gospel by providing a noon feast for the homeless and for people who are going through hard times and need a good meal and social contact. Volunteers prepare and serve the meal at Gather Church’s Eat Free Café in Centralia, 408 West Main. We provide a hearty meal for our guests to eat on the premises and also provide sack lunches they can eat later.
Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles
Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.
Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.
