St. Luke's Episcopal Church

Share a story

St. Luke’s is a vibrant and inclusive church, a congregation of prayer, celebration, and ministry, and a beautiful place to sit listen to our bells and give thanks to God. What we do here is both ancient and new – worship God with all the joy we can muster, follow Jesus as best as we can, seek justice and peace, and welcome all who come to our doors. We love music, strong teaching, old stories fit for these times. We love people and invite those of all ages to join us, as we study and share and question our faith. We committed to fostering a community where human flourishing takes places and growing in emotional, physical, intellectual, relational and spiritual health.  Wherever you are in your spiritual life – seeker, doubter, or just trying to live the life God wants for you – we are glad to welcome you. Come to a service, join the choir, help with an outreach activity, take a class or teach one.

In 2024, the Jamestown Public Market  rebranded to Grow Jamestown to reflect the expansion of it's mission concering food systems in Chautauqua County. In part to the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program grant, Grow Jamestown was able to establish the Jamestown Mobile Market, a program borne of years or research into Jamestown’s food security concerns.

Blue Bag Ministry

Donation Coordination/Distribution

On a monthly basis during the programmatic year, we coordinate a collection of items that will support a local service agency.  This collection is deeply rooted in our a liturgy.  On the second Sunday of the month we distribute special blue bags (with our parish image on it) that contains a shopping list and on the third Sunday we bring all of the bags up and place them on the altar during the offering.  We sing a special piece of music written by a parishioner.

Sacred Ground Race Dialogue Circles

Racial Reconciliation
Sacred Ground

Sacred Ground is dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race, racism, and whiteness while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. The 10-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.

Sacred Ground is a resource coming out of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society. This series is especially designed to help white people talk with other white people, while being open to all racial/ethnic groups. Participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day – all while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.

New Neighbors Coalition of Jamestown

Immigration Services

The New Neighbors Coalition’s mission is to assist new friends with community navigation, accessing services, transportation, and human connection. The group recognizes we are favorably positioned and can benefit greatly from an influx of diverse individuals. As such, we should play an active, empathetic role in helping make new arrivals’ transition filled with compassion and understanding.
